Form 8283 Made Simple
By The Let's Deduct! Team
When you need Form 8283
If you donate noncash items worth more than $500 in a year, the IRS requires Form 8283 with your return.
How Let's Deduct! helps
From the dashboard Actions menu, choose Form 8283. We automatically:
- Group your items by charity
- Split entries into Section A ($500 or less) and Section B (over $500)
- Pre-fill descriptions, dates, and values
Before you file
- Confirm each charity's EIN in the Charities lookup.
- For items over $5,000, a qualified appraisal is generally required.
- Print, sign, and attach the form to your return.
That's one less form to fear this season.
